How to get to Windermere Christmas Celebration
We are excited to bring this two day, fun filled, festive festival to Windermere. To ensure authenticity and atmosphere we wanted the event to be outside and in the heart of our town. We studied our maps and the street that would be perfect is: Victoria Street & High Street, Windermere
Victoria Street will be closed to all but emergency and vital traffic on both days of the festival. Parking in Windermere will be limited as we expect thousands of festive people visiting this fantastic event.
By Car
Access into Windermere is via Rayrigg Road at the mini roundabout (follow signs for Bowness on the A591). We are are strongly recommending for visitors to drive to Glebe Rd, Bowness-on-Windermere, Windermere LA23 3HE and park down and use the FREE shuttle bus provided by Mountain Goat which collects you from Bowness Pier. We strongly advise you to arrange an alternative form of transport due to the limited parking.
Please do not use Booths Car Park, this is for Booths customers only. Anyone doing this and using the market will be issued a ticket ticket.

All Windermere Lake Cruises arrive at Bowness, there will be FREE shuttle bus service to take you up to the event operated by Mountain Goat!
By Train
Windermere Train Station is within 200 meters of Windermere Christmas Market. Ticket and timetables for Windermere Train Station can be found here.
By Bus
Every bus that goes past Windermere stops at Windermere Train Station which is only 200 meters from Windermere Christmas Celebration. Ticket and timetables for buses can be found here.
By Reindeer
Reindeer parking for VIP’s has been arranged in the wooded area behind Windermere Tourist Information Centre. Complimentary carrots will be fed to your Reindeer. If you have arrived by reindeer please check in to the Mountain Goat office to meet local people.
